I encourage my students to be interactive, assertive, inquisitive, helpful and thoughtful. I believe it is important to nurture a young child's love of learning by expanding on his or her own inquisitive nature. As an educator, I know that teaching means much more than lessons and standards. Therefore, I also focus on preparing students' mindsets on their resilience in the face of academic and social challenges. I am committed in creating a learning environment that allows children to develop their own ideas, express their feelings, take risks, make choices, and most of all, grow to be strong, thoughtful individuals.

Luckily that is what occurs most days during the school year. I love noticing when there is a sparkle in a student's eyes as they learn something new, share their passion on a topic, or understand a difficult concept. I believe a nurturing environment also includes teaching the students life skills such as compassion, understanding, along with courage, perseverance and many more. I work on creating a classroom where students work toward reaching their highest potential in a joyful atmosphere.
